Cynthia Llanes

Cynthia Llanes has a BA in Fine Arts and explored a career in fashion as a textile designer in the Los Angeles fashion district before devoting more of her time to painting and joining art exhibitions. Llanes calls her move from California to scenic Western North Carolina an inspirational awakening because of the way it motivated her to create landscape paintings. Her style continues to evolve towards brighter, bolder colors with bold brushstrokes and palette knife effects giving her work movement and atmospheric depth, a reference to both Impressionism and Expressionism.

She believes that art's purpose is to uplift, inspire, communicate and even provoke a conversation.

Cynthia Llanes has over 10 years of part time teaching experience. Her unique approach to teaching was honed through teaching varied age groups from seven year old kids to adults. She has conducted both group workshops and private art lessons in drawing and painting (Watercolor, acrylic, pencil and oil).

She believes that every person who is interested in creating and expressing themselves through various art mediums are good candidates to study art to further their craft.

She is quick to say, "Everyone has a creative mind!"
