Rebecca King

Jewelry

Rebecca King is a jewelry artist and native of Asheville, North Carolina, where the breathtaking landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains inspire her creative vision. With a passion for craftsmanship, Rebecca employs a diverse range of techniques, including wire wrapping, cold forging, piercing, beading and even painting into her jewelry designs. She employs a wide range of materials including gemstones, crystals, glass, shells, sterling silver, and copper to give each piece it's character. Each piece she creates is a unique blend of artistry and nature, reflecting her fascination with fantasy and the magical elements found in the world around her. Through her jewelry, she invites wearers to connect with the enchantment of the outdoors, embodying the spirit of the mountains and the wonders they hold.

Rebecca took metal smith classes locally at Haywood Community College. Since wire wrapping wasn't offered there, she bought a book and taught herself. It was in1995 when she first fell in love with wire wrapping and she has been doing it ever since. She was teaching in the RAD before Helene and was grateful to find a new home at Trackside Studios after the flood destroyed Foundation Studios. Rebecca will walk you thru the process and guide you around common mistakes and pitfalls that happen when one is starting out..
