Patricia Sweet

Artist Patricia Sweet lives in North Carolina where she paints primarily plein air, directly from the subject matter, rather than in a studio. She strives to capture the world that surrounds us focusing on the subtle light effects that strike a visual and emotional chord. She hopes to convey those fleeting moments of awe onto the canvas so the viewer can share in the experience.

Patricia Sweet has spent the past 50 years painting in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and dabbling with every medium and surface available. Her passion to create and teach began at a young age when she was bed and wheelchair bond due to a rare bone disease. The schools could not provide adequate transportation so it led her to take advanced classes at the fine art center while the other kids were at school. Sweet desires to use her experience and knowledge to help all ages unleash the artist within and express their own creativity and passion.
