August Exhibit: Expanding Horizons

A dozen artists of Trackside Studios invite you to expand your horizons within your mind, body, and soul by soaking in their interpretations of “Expanding Horizons.” Their creations, and the stories that accompany them, will be displayed in the Stairway Gallery from August 10 through September 12 during studio hours, 11 am to 4 pm. There will be an artist reception during 2nd Saturday Art Stroll, August 10. Artists will be demonstrating throughout the day, 11am-6pm with refreshments served in the afternoon.

Each artist’s viewpoint comes from a different place – the past, present, or future, a physical place, within oneself, or in an imagined space. Characteristics needed to expand one’s horizons, such as bravery, an open mind, the power of intention, and the willingness to go beyond one’s comfort zone, are explored in varying medium and techniques. A hopefulness about making sense of a dysfunctional world, seeing wonders previously hidden, identifying new goals to pursue, and finding order in the complexity of life.

Participating artists are Amy Reader, Cecilia Surbano, Chalkley Matlack, Cynthia Brody, Fariba, Jeff Depew, Li Newton, Lissa Friedman, Pat Abrams, Peggy King, Raquel Egosi, Sahar Fakhoury, and Sun Sohovich.
